구리는 시각디자인과 미술이론을 전공했으며, 18세기 영국의 역사화를 당대의 사회·경제적 맥락 속에서 고찰하는 연구로 석사 학위를 받았다. 이후 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관 등 한국 주요 미술 기관에서 전시, 연구, 출판 등의 실무 경험을 쌓았다. 2022년에는 미국에서 열린 한국국제교류재단(KF) 한국미술 큐레이터 워크숍을 수료하며 한국미술을 보다 넓은 시야와 국제적 감각에서 보고자 했다. 한국 근대미술부터 동시대 미술, 영화, K-팝, 클래식, 패션, 요리에 이르기까지 다양한 분야에 호기심을 갖고 있으며, 특히 이들이 서로 교차하거나 다른 문화 안에서 번역되고 해석되는 방식에 주목한다.
Guri studied graphic design and art theory in Korea, and earned her M.A. with a thesis that examined 18th-century British history painting within its socio-economic context. She gained practical experience in curating, research, and publishing at major museums in Seoul, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) and the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA). In 2022, she completed the Korea Foundation (KF) Korean Art Curator Workshop in the United States, broadening her perspective and developing a more international outlook on Korean art. She is interested in a wide range of fields, from Korean modern and contemporary art to film, K-pop, classical music, fashion, and cooking – particulary in how these intersect and are translated or interpreted across different cultures.
